Kaylee's Makeup Secrets
If you have had a session with Kara before, you would know I am her makeup artist! After doing many faces of makeup, I have learned some great tips and tricks!
Tip #1 Know Your Skin!
I know this might seem super obvious, but knowing your skin type is essential and crucial to your makeup. This will allow you to find foundations and primers that will accentuate your beauty.
Tip #2 Tape is Your BFF
If I have done your makeup before, you will know I ALWAY use and recommend tape. If your unsure about eyeshadow and don't know where to start: TAPE! Place a piece of tape angled at the eye; I like to place the edge right against the eye and then at the end of the eyebrow. This will make your eye like a coloring book and give you a line to stop out. When I take the tape off, I love to buff it out, so it is not as strong! This is super good for winged liner as well.
Tip #3 Save Your Money on Brushes
I am about to say something controversial yet brave; you do not have to buy the $30 eye shadow brush from Sephora. I have had a $3 brush and a $40 brush, and honestly, there is no difference! Save your coin and go to Walmart or online at Morphe, so affordable and so fantastic. As long as you clean and take care of your brushes, they will last FOREVER. My all-time favorite brush is a blush brush from elf that was LITERALLY $6. Seriously, save that money!
Tip #4 HYDRATE!
If no one has told you today, put on your moisturizer! No matter your skin type, moisturize that skin! For the longest time, I did not moisturize my skin because it was oily. But then, my life was changed, and I started moisturizing. The key to makeup is starting with a well-moisturized base; it will help your makeup go on much better!
